The University of Rhode Island Theatre Department recently performed "The Great Gatsby", its final production of the 2016-2017 academic year.

The University of Rhode Island chapter of the Phi Alpha Theta History national honor society recently inducted 15 new members into the society. Phi Alpha Theta is an American honor society for undergraduate and graduate students and professors of history. The society has over 350,000 members, with about 9,500 new members joining each year through 860 local chapters.

The University of Rhode Island's Harrington School of Communication and Media honored 12 students March 22 at its annual Public Relations Excellence Award Ceremony. The awards were presented in the following categories: community impact, campus involvement, leadership, global impact, most innovative and outstanding internship.

Each year, the University of Rhode Island honors graduating seniors with superior academic achievement in a particular field with a University Academic Excellence Award. Their selection is based on grade point average, as well as other criteria determined by the individual department. For example, criteria might include an honors project, a research presentation, or a student's professional promise.
