The goal of URI's orientation program is to welcome new students and their families to the URI community and to start them along a path to success. The Orientation Team represents URI's diverse and enthusiastic community of learners.

The University of Rhode Island is pleased to announce that more than 5,290 undergraduates have qualified for the Spring 2017 Dean's List. The students represent nearly all of Rhode Island's cities and towns, all six New England states, New York and New Jersey, many other states and countries.

Four University of Rhode Island students have been awarded $20,000 Boren Scholarships to study foreign languages abroad - one each in China, Jordan, Morocco and Mozambique.

The second annual student-created and led conference took place at the University of Rhode Island's Kingston Campus March 4-5, 2016. Called "Diversifying Individuals Via Education" (D.I.V.E. RI), this event is focused on enhancing student leadership and social change on college campuses.

Through this competitive 14-week fellowship, which began in May 2015, students had the opportunity to apply their classroom knowledge to real-world problems in a range of disciplines.

Written by Stephen Karam and PJ Paparelli, with dramaturgy by Patricia Hersch, "columbinus" examines the realities of adolescent culture by exploring the events surrounding the 1999 shootings at Columbine High School in Littleton, Colo.

For decades, the College of Pharmacy has held a "white coat" ceremony to recognize six-year doctor of pharmacy students entering their third year - their first professional year in the major. This semester it was also time to welcome juniors into the new biomedical science program.
