2013 Aug 9

University of Rhode Island undergraduate Dennis Conetta of Darien, CT, recently presented research findings on "Causes of long-term declines in fish populations on coral reefs" at the sixth annual Rhode Island Summer Undergraduate Research Fellows (SURF) Conference. The SURF Program provides undergraduate students from Rhode Island with a unique opportunity to present their summer research to a group of their peers and demonstrate how federal funds are used in a collaborative effort to support research and student training in scientific areas critical to the state's future.

More than 100 students from nine colleges and universities in Rhode Island presented at this year's conference, which was held at the College of Pharmacy and the Center for Biotechnology & Life Sciences on the University of Rhode Island's Kingston campus.
