Orrett Douglas-Prawl of Stamford inducted into Rhode Island Onyx Honor Society at URI

The University of Rhode Island's Black Scholar Awards program honored this year's Rhode Island Onyx Senior Honor Society inductees. Thirty-six graduating seniors were inducted based on their academic excellence, community service, and cultural pride.

The new members include:

Orrett Douglas-Prawl of Stamford, Conn.

Donald Cunnigen, professor of sociology and anthropology at URI and a member of the URI Black Faculty Association, established the awards program and honor society chapter in 1998 to recognize and honor outstanding African-American seniors.
